        When Anne was nine years old, she built a treehouse with her dad. When they had finished with the final touch ups, Anne and her dad stood back and looked at the pink and green masterpiece that sat in the tree. The year that followed, she spend every day after school in her tree house. Only, to Anne, it wasn’t a treehouse. It was a castle or a pirate ship, basically, it was anything Anne wanted it to be. One year later, on the first day of fifth grade, Anne did something a little different. Instead of retreating to her tree house after a long day of school, she went to her room to finish her homework.

        “Tomorrow,” said Anne, “Tomorrow I will go to my tree house.”

        Three years later, Anne came in from a day at the mall with her friends. As they walked back to her room, Anne caught a glimpse of the once pink and green tree house that slouched in the tree. She could barely remember the games she used to play as a child, and she couldn’t remember the last time she had ever stepped foot in the thing. Though, as she looked at the treehouse for a while longer, she began to miss the life her nine year old self led. A part of her  realized the only thing she wanted was to go play in her old tree house.  Finally, Anne snapped back to reality and joined her friends again.

Treehouse = childhood

  1. I really like that you told a relatable story. I can remember things that I used to do as a kid, that I miss now that I'm older. Good job!

             On St. Patrick's Day, our school hosted a softball tournament where we played a school from New Orleans called McGhee. It was one of our first few games, so we were a little nervous going in to play. The game ended pretty quickly, and they won by over ten points. We were all let down that we had lost, but we knew that we would play them again. This weekend was our second game against them, and we went to New Orleans to play. We were all excited and nervous to play them again, but I had a good feeling about the game.              We got there, warmed up, and the game started. It started very similarly to our first game against them, so we started to loose our energy. However, my team started to get some hits, get on bases, and get some runs. We got more and more excited as we got more runs, and when we were down by three, a girl on my team hit the ball out of the park with bases loaded. We were all so ex...

Fall Break

       Fall break is one of my favorite times of the year because it gives me time to relax and do whatever I want. My break started off with having a friend over to spend the night. While she was over, we went to the Episcopal football game and met up with some people there. We stayed until the very end and cheered on the Knights. After the game, we went back to my house and watched some movies.        The next day, we went to the mall. It was so much fun because we got to walk around and shop. One of my favorite stores at the mall is Sephora. We went to Sephora and tested all of the newest make-up and skin care products. After a long day of shopping, we went to the food court and got some ice cream. Once we had both gotten home, I spent the next few days relaxing and taking a break from school.

       This weekend, my friends and I went ice-skating. The whole week before, we had planned it out, and we were all so excited. Whenever we drove to the rink, there were so many cars and I was under the impression that it was going to be so crowded. I was quite disappointed because I knew it wouldn't be as much fun if there were loads of people there. As we walked inside, I felt the air grow colder and I immediately got so much more excited.        I put on my skates and I went onto the ice. To my surprise, the ice skating rink was not crowded and I knew I would have fun. When I stepped onto the ice, I realized I hadn't skated in what felt like years. I practiced along the edges until I could finally do it on my own. My friends and I were having so much fun, we didn't even realize the time. We were all so upset  at the fact that is was time to go. So, we all took off our skates, and we knew that we would come back soon.
